John Davies is the Managing Director of Optas Ltd. He graduated in Chemistry at Imperial College in 1984 and studied for a PhD in Analytical Chemistry at Imperial College, submitting in Feb 1987. After two Post-Doctoral positions, he worked for Johnson and Johnson for 11 years and became recognised as one of the leading surface analytical chemists within the Johnson & Johnson Group.
He established an Analytical Laboratory Facility in the UK, developing novel techniques for the analysis of surfaces. He was awarded the RSC “Young Analytical Chemist of the Year“ in 1993. He left Johnson & Johnson in August 2000 to establish Optas Ltd.
